Bringing Your Art Side Out

By Tiffany Chen

Chicago artsist Jeff Semmerling has been in the business of disguise for 35 years. His love for masks is what fuels his work. To Semmerling, masks has three-dimensions: who you are under the mask, who you want to be through the mask and what you could be.

Semmerling believes art is not a privilege to the rich kids. He holds art camps in summer to expose children to arts. Active involvement in art is what drives artists' work.

Semmerling's nest stop is next stop is the Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans. Art Side Out Studio is located at 5606 N. Western Ave., Chicago, IL.
